Brown Coverlet Ditty Bag

Can you tell I love creating these bags? This beautiful piece was created using a piece of brown coverlet that I had in my stash. It’s lined with a pretty summery cherry print fabric. I appliquéd a bright blue bird to the front and created a small bunch of cherries which I added to the top of the bag that matches the cherry lining fabric. It is approximately 9” long x 8” wide. I loved stitching this sewing pouch for myself so much I just had to stitch another one for our update. This is a pattern by Stacy Nash Designs. It’s a beautiful bag, perfect for our Semiquincentennial! It is stitched in beautiful patriotic colors with added antique porcelain and Mother of Pearl buttons from my stash. The back of the bag is a pretty reproduction gold fabric and the lining is a gorgeous blue reproduction civil war fabric from my collection. It is approximately 9” long x 7” wide. Sweet Red Strawberry Basket

It's almost that time of the year when strawberries are at their finest. I have made two antique wood containers of strawberries for your consideration. The berries are made from beautiful red velvet and reproduction fabrics. I have topped them with some vintage yo yo's. I have also added a large homespun strawberry the a wool top and stitches down the front. They are nestled in the antique boxes with a piece of homespun fabric. Wool Strawberry on Wood Base w/ Scissor Fob

This is an overdyed wool strawberry all hand stitched, stuffed and then glued to a wooden base. I have sewn on some dyed cheesecloth underneath it then glued the whole thing down securely. The strawberry itself is 6” tall and 3” wide at the bottom and with the wood base the whole piece is 8” tall and the wood base is 4” wide. I have created a scissor fob for this as well. I’m sorry the pictures are not the best due to my lighting but I hope you can see how pretty the red wool is with the khaki metallic green beads I stitched onto it!
