Wool Mushroom Pincushion

My mushroom pincushion was created by using a design from Sue Spargo’s wonderful Truffle Duffle book! I used my own overdyed wools for creating it and the background wool but all the threads are from Sue Spargo’s but a few! I used stitches from her book and did my own thing with it so I hope you like it! I have added beads in spots I hope you can see in the pictures and a piece of batik fabric too. It’s a nice hefty size at 6” x 7” , about 2 inches and weighs 1 pound 7.7 ounces all stuffed with crushed walnut shells. Being so heavy shipping will be a bit more I’m sorry. Flower pinkeep ~Sold~

A sweet floral pinkeep I made using an old piece of fabric for backing I appliquéd a wool flower to front added a few pins and buttons…the back has an appliquéd basket. This little box is the sweetest thing with the bright red peacocks gracing the top! This is another antique box I had in my collection that I absolutely love! The lid is not attached to this box and easily lifts off. I lined the bottom with a pretty complimentary fabric and added a tiny pair of embroidery scissors and a tiny little strawberry. I added some pretty red chenille trim and some black glass-head pins to the stitched piece. It’s perfect for holding your stitching needs while you create your next beautiful design. I have always loved creating these mattress style pinkeeps. These are made with different fabrics from my collection and they are stuffed with crushed walnuts shells and polyfil. I created a special patriotic pin for each of these and also created a red linen strawberry for the top of each. I loved this Stacy Nash Primitives Design as soon as I saw it. I have been collecting antique boxes for as long as I can remember and thought it would be even more beautiful with this design attached to the top of it. I added some Blackbird Designs fabric to the inside as well as a tiny pair of embroidery scissors and a wool strawberry I created just for this piece. This box is absolutely beautiful and perfect for holding your small stitching accessories. It is approximately 7” long x 5” wide x 3” high and is somewhat heavy. Blue Ribbon Strawberry Basket

Don’t you just love the spring season and everything new that grows around this time? I had to create these wonderful wool strawberries for this season and couldn’t resist the sweet melamine berry basket when I saw it. Of course it’s also fair time and what could be better than winning a blue ribbon at the County Fair?! The strawberry is made with beautiful hand-dyed wool from Blackberry Primitives and is firmly is stuffed with sawdust. I added some vintage buttons from my collection, a sweet hummingbird charm and an antique glass swirl pin. It is approximately 6” long x 4.5” wide. The blue ribbon is attached with a small magnet and can be removed. Please keep this away from children under the age of 12. Kindly asking $90.00 and $10 for travel fare.
