I love every single design from Blackbird Designs and I’m so happy I picked this one to stitch for this Halloween! It’s a big one! It is approximately 5” wide x 3” tall. I used a beautiful gray velvet for the sides and a black printed fabric from my stash on the bottom and some antique ricrac trim. The bone button and shoe button are antiques from my great Uncle’s thread mill in Fall River, Massachusetts that I visited often as a young girl. It is firmly stuffed with sawdust and crushed walnut shells. I added several glass-head pins, two that I created and one very special cauldron pin that I purchased specifically for this. I think I could get addicted to making these tomatoes! They are made using the softest wools. Each tomato has a handmade tomato pinkeep pin, a mother of pearl button, thimble charm, and a black glass head pin. I created a matching strawberry fob and added a cute pair of scissors to go with them. They come in solid red wool, or red with black checks. Please indicate the color ribbon, cream or blue, and check or solid wool. I have two of each. Please, no orders at this time. The tomato measures approximately 5” x 4”. Floral Pinkeep Drum

I had so much fun creating this drum! I used a design by Blackbird Designs for the sides and a pretty deep red flannel fabric for the top and bottom. I added a strawberry to the top that I created with a pretty fabric from my stash, several glass-head pins, a bird charm, and mother of pearl button. It is firmly stuffed with sawdust. It is approximately 2.5” across x 3.5” tall. Kindly asking $65.00 and $6.50 for travel fare.

Velvet Strawberry Pincushion

Here’s a really sweet velvet strawberry pincushion. Stuffed with wool for keeping your pins sharp, and a wool leaf stitched to the top which can be used to tuck in your needles. I’ve created this kitty pincushion with a quilted bottom pillow stitched from reproduction cotton prints. Atop is stitched a vintage velvet pin tuffet. I’ve added one of my wool sock kitties, with hand stitched features. It’s about 8 inches tall and just over 6 inches squared. I’ve created this prim lil patriotic bear from creamy plush felt and aged him for an old timey appearance. He has beady eyes, stitched features, and is trimmed with rusty jingle bells. His neck is wrapped with a woolen strip. His arms are string jointed. He has patriotic stovepipe hat He sits on a patriotic stack of pin tuffets and holds a tiny prim painted basket. SOLD Olde Velvet Rabbit Pincushion

I’ve stitched this sweet rabbit pincushion from vintage velvet. It’s a nice rich shade of brown. It has beaded eyes, stitched nose and mouth, and heavy cord whiskers. I’ve added one of my small reproduction cotton tuffets to the back for pins, a string of pearl buttons, and a vintage spool of thread. . About 10 inches long. SOLDQuaker Pinkeep Drum

I love stitching Quaker designs and thought this one would be perfect for St. Patrick’s Day! The drum is 3 1/2” wide by 3 1/4” tall. I stitched it using a pretty green silk floss. The bottom and sides were made using a pretty, aged, dark green print from my stash. I added a cinnamon colored cording around the top, a safety pin with an antique bone button, and two bronze charms. I also added two antique glass swirl pins to the top. I love making drum pinkeeps and this tiny one was no exception. The design is by Blackbird Designs called Vintage Pincushion that I adapted and made into a drum. It’s tiny, only 2 3/4” tall x 2” wide. I aged the drum to make it look old and hand stitched chenille trim around the top and bottom. I added an antique glass swirl pin and two antique mother of pearl buttons. I also created a matching wool strawberry scissor fob and added a tiny pair of scissors. Kindly asking $65 and $8.00 for travel fare.
