This Patriotic Huswife is a design by The Needle and I, and was stitched using overdyed threads on linen. I used a variety of coordinating cotton fabrics with a layer of cotton batting between, and there are 2 nice sized pockets to hold your scissors and other stitching extras. I’ve added some glass head pins and a few vintage buttons…the beeswax thread Waxer is also included. It buttons up when folded with an antique shoe button. This drum, a design by Brenda Gervais, is a nice size measuring just over 4”across, about 2 1/2” high, and is stitched on linen with overdyed threads. The sides and bottom are 2 coordinating Moda fabrics, and I’ve firmly stuffed it with a mix of sawdust and ground walnut shells. I’ve added some glass head pins, and black mourning pins, along with a few vintage buttons. The drum comes signed and dated. I’ve attached 4 bone rings to hold some of your threads, and there is a wool star to hold some of your pins….the star beeswax thread Waxer is also included. I’ve also added some antique glass head pins and a few vintage buttons. When rolled it ties with a vintage rayon ribbon. Measurements are 12” high, and 5 1/4” wide. I designed these tape measures to replicate a Tomato Pinkeep with a Strawberry Emery. The tops and bottoms are lightly padded with batting, and they measure 2 1/2” across, 2 1/4” high, and just under 3/4”deep. The sides and back are 2 different coordinating Moda fabrics, and I’ve added a few glass head pins.
