I absolutely love creating these sweet ditty bags! My favorite color is red so of course there is red all through this bag! The lining is a beautiful red civil war reproduction fabric from my stash. The back of the bag and strap were made using a rich brown reproduction civil war fabric that compliments the lining perfectly. It measures 8.5” x 6.5” with a 21” strap. Fun fact about the way I do some of my bags...they are completely reversible. When I want to change things up around my house I simply turn the bag inside out and add a sprig of greenery or Sweet Annie. The second photo shows what it looks like after turning it inside out. I think this has been my favorite finish this month! The basket is a Nantucket style basket. The design was stitched using a pattern from a book by Blackbird Designs. I think the sweet Mother of Pearl button adds to its sweetness. I added a tiny velvet strawberry that is filled with wool scraps and is removable from the basket.
