Crow Applique on Mustard Box

A box with a removable lid crafted by my son. It is painted Valley Forge Mustard and has been distressed and stained to achieve a nice, primitive look. I designed and hand-stitched the Crow and star onto hand-dyed linen, featuring an embroidered vine and berries, along with a twiggy tree. The box measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 4". Merry Christmas Tree on Sifter Frame

I designed and hand-stitched this Christmas tree using French knot bulbs. The words Merry Christmas are hand-stitched around the tree. I used hand-dyed linen by Blackberry Primitives for the background, hand-dyed wool for the tree, and Valdani thread for the stitching. I added three heavy-duty magnets to the back of the mat to attach it to the 10" x 8" sifter frame. This makes it easy to switch out a design for every season. The mat measures 6" x 4" and is backed with flannel. Shipping is included in the price.

Snowman Mat on Mustard Board

I designed and hand-stitched this little mat to hang from one of our mustard boards. The board is painted Valley Forge Mustard and has been distressed to achieve a primitive look. The mat is made from hand-dyed linen and wool with a flannel back. The snowman holds a candy cane and has three wool buttons down the front. Around the edges, I added some decorative stitches and a few stars across the top using Valdani threads. The mat hangs from the board with a thread tie so you can easily switch it out for the seasons. The board measures 9" x 7" and the mat is 6" x 4". Shipping is included in the price.

Blue Box with Sheep Mini Mat

One of my sons' boxes features a drawer at the bottom and a hinged lid on top, and comes with a mini wool and hand-dyed linen mat. The box has been painted and distressed in Soldier Blue and measures 10 x 9 1/2 x 9. The inside of the drawer measures 7 1/2 x 7 x 2 inches, and the box inside measures 8 x 8 x 5 inches. I designed and hand-stitched the little mat to go on top of the box. I used hand-dyed linen and wool for the sheep and Christmas tree design. It measures 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Around the edge, I stitched a blue wool trim and backed it with flannel. Shipping is included in the price.

Large Pumpkin Hand-Appliqued Centerpiece

This pumpkin mat ate all of her veggies growing up.....she is large, measuring a full 22" in diameter!! The outer-most fabric is a mottled cotton and the scalloped black background is black wool. All the pumpkins and leaves are 100% wool and the details have been hand-embroidered. For the back of this piece, I chose a cotton fabric that has a distressed orange/rust background with faded leaves. You can flip this mat over and use the reverse side as a second option!
