Heart Applique Drawstring bag

You can never have too many drawstring cotton bags, especially in a primitive home. This bag wears an appliqued blue homspun heart on a background of blue and white homespun. The fabrics have been nicely aged. The top closes with vintage cotton string. You will find so many uses for this little bag from keeping cotton balls and Qtips neat and tidy to carrying your snack to the next flea market. Buzzing bees definitely speak summer and so this month I have stitched a bee skep sitting on a stand onto a 5 x 8" pillow and surrounded it with sweet applique flowers, hand stitched leaves and stems, and honey bees. Cat Patchwork

For the cat and prim lovers! Here are 3 rows of brown reproduction fabric squares primly stitched together and quilted vertically in each row. Appliqued on top of the squares is a primly stitiched cat from old muslin. The fabric is dyed for age and scattered across the quilt are little frayed spots for extra prim charm. The back is a solid piece of reproduction brown fabric. This little quilted patch would be cute to hang on a wall or tuck in a basket or use as a mug mat. It measures approx. 9 x 7". This sweet little pincushion features an applique strawberry from hand dyed wool embellished with prim stitching. The velvet has been tea-dyed and worn away in spots to give it wonderful vintage charm. It is stuffed with a combination of wool and walnut shells. Made entirely by me for you. SOLD! Velvet Heart Pin Cushion

*Item is SOLD! Thanks so much. I'm happy to offer you a primly aged velvet heart shaped pin cushion with a sprig of appliqued wool flowers with embroidered stitches to brighten up your sewing basket, or simply display in a primitive bowl. It is made in the tradition of seamstresses of centuries past when keeping pins tidy and safe was of utmost importance. Pincushions were often exchanged between friends. The velvet has been aged to mimic the wear that sharp pins will create after years of taking them in and out. Surrounding the entire outside of the heart is a row of embroidered stitches as embellishment. The pincushion has been firmly stuffed with wool and cotton. The bottom of the pin cushion is made from a wonderful 1800's reproduction cotton print fabric. I think it is particularly nice and in keeping with the time period. Primitive Wall Pocket

A wonderful primitive piece ready to hang on a wall or from a peg to hold anything from envelopes to sewing tools to combs. A perfect primitive addition to any room. The fabrics are aged nicely with modest amounts of stressing and over dyeing to give it that vintage look. There are three vintage buttons, two wood and one painted china as well as aged twill tape for hanging. The appliqué heart cut from an old feedsack and is primly hand stitched in place. The gathered pocket is primly hand stitched in place with a button at each corner. The back is covered with repro homespun fabric and slightly padded with wool batting.The overall measurement is 10 1/2 x 7 1/2”. The pocket is 5 x 7 1/2”. The fabrics are shades of blue. Fall is in the air at Yankee Girl's house! This bag is made from a beautiful, soft, off white wool. I appliqued a crow, a pumpkin and a sunflower wishfully thinking fall is around the corner. The bag measures 8 1/2" long x 7" wide. The strap is 21" long making the bag 29". I added a sweet wool acorn and a tiny black bone ring. The acorn is stuffed with wool scraps and is detachable. The bag is fully lined with a beautiful burnt orange quilt fabric and it is backed with a black and cream striped fabric. Kindly asking $55.00 and $4.50 for postage.
