Wool is one of my favorite fabrics to work with. This sweet crow pincushion is made entirely of wool. The crow is black with black and white stiffened wings. He is proudly perched on a stick. He has a glass pumpkin charm in his beak and the word crow, spelled out in beads is securely attached to the gray wool pumpkin. The pumpkin stem is a real stem that I dried from last year’s Halloween pumpkins. I attached a wire tendril near the stem and added two pins to the pumpkin. It stands approximately 6” tall. This is my favorite huswife that I have ever stitched. The colors are not typical Halloween colors but they really look beautiful together. I cross stitched a Quaker cat pattern in black and purple. The huswife has two pockets and a wool patch to hold your needles and pins. I added a mother of pearl button with black beads, attached with a black safety pin. There are two bone rings stitched to the top to tie it closed or to hang it. It is 15” long x 5” wide and when closed it measures 5” x 5”. Kindly asking $72.00 and $8.00 for travel fare.

SOLD **** Prancing in the Snow Ditty Bag

I loved this design by Dulaney Woods Treasures so much I had to stitch it into a ditty bag. The bag is approximately 6.5” long x 6” wide with straps that are 22” long. I backed the bag with a beautiful red print fabric and it is fully lined. I added a sprig of preserved juniper with berries that can be removed. On the outside of the bag I added a sweet silver reindeer charm and a red glass Czech button. It will come signed and dated. Kindly asking $48.00 and $6.00 for travel fare.

This is such a sweet bag that can be used all year. I stitched it using a pattern by Stacy Nash. I added some artificial greenery with real berries inside the bag, they are removable. To the outside of the bag I added a vintage mother of pearl button, a bronze bell and a tiny red glass Czech button. The ditty bag is fully lined and will come signed and dated. Strawberry Pen Wipe

Pen wipes were common desk items in vintage times when dip and fountain pens were used. Fashioned with a decoration the base was used to blot the pen before writing. They were often given as gifts. I'm offering a strawberry pen wipe. All made from hand dyed wools. The base is made of three layers of wool shaped like a leaf and stitched together by hand. Sitting on top the green leaves is a red strawberry with green cap and stem with hand stitched black "seeds" in an "x" pattern all over. The berry is stuffed with wool. The leaves measure about 6 x 4". The berry is about 3" long, not including the stem. I'm kindly asking $35.00 which includes shipping.

Vintage Chick Prim Needful

Looking oh, so fine and primitive, this little yellow chick is holding a pink posey and just waiting to make you smile! An original creation by Winter Cottage. Vintage Coin Purse

I have had this fabric in my stash carefully tucked away for more than 16 years, patiently waiting for just the right use for it. I absolutely love the vintage look of this coin purse! The purse is completely lined with a sweet fabric that compliments it perfectly. I added a bronze looking safety pin, Mother of Pearl button and a tiny heart charm, and a tiny scissors charm. Primitive Doll Quilt in blues and creams. Just like a young girl learning her sewing skills, the seams don’t match and the corners aren’t square but that’s just part of the charm of this aged and primly done piece. All visible stitching is done by hand, the fabric has been aged with pin pricks, worn out seams, and over dying for some appropriate age. The fabrics are a mix of old Feedsack solid and civil war era repro printed cottons. In keeping with 1800’s quilting traditions, the backing fabric is folded to the front and stitched down to form the binding. 9x13” Shipping is included with the price. The fabrics are a mix of old feedsack solid, repro homespun, and civil war era repro printed cottons. The center diamond patch features an appliqué stitched heart. In keeping with 1800’s quilting traditions, the backing fabric is folded to the front and stitched down to form the binding. The backing on this sweet quilt is an old printed feedsack with a design in red and blue slightly visible. 10x15”. Shipping is included in price. Please contact me with any questions.

Primitive Wall Pocket

A wonderful primitive piece ready to hang on a wall or from a peg to hold anything from envelopes to sewing tools to combs. A perfect primitive addition to any room. The fabrics are aged nicely with modest amounts of stressing and over dyeing to give it that vintage look. There are three vintage buttons, two wood and one painted china as well as aged twill tape for hanging. The appliqué heart cut from an old feedsack and is primly hand stitched in place. The gathered pocket is primly hand stitched in place with a button at each corner. The back is covered with repro homespun fabric and slightly padded with wool batting.The overall measurement is 10 1/2 x 7 1/2”. The pocket is 5 x 7 1/2”. The fabrics are shades of blue.
