Miss Mabel Baker

Miss Mabel Baker has been working long and hard so please take a look at all the photos so you can see the areas that show wear for your approval. She is made out of cotton and stuffed with cotton batting from my leftover quilting. She is stuffed hard, not squishy. Her dress and apron fabrics are reproduction 1800s fabrics that have been aged with black coffee dye. Her face and hair have been stitched on with brown cotton thread. All her visible stitching has been done by hand. Miss Mabel Baker stands 16 1/2 inches tall. Her neck was a bit wobbly so it has been reinforced from the inside, adding a little bit more character to her legacy. I am kindly asking $88 which includes her travel fee. She is handmade using my own design in my pet-free, smoke-free home.

Flannel Jane

So soft and squishy, Flannel Jane is so very primitive and perfectly plain. Her flannel dress has been aged with black coffee dye and stitched with little tiny stitches onto her body. Somewhere in her travels she snagged a hole in her bodice and had to be mended with a small piece of blue striped ticking fabric. It's all good though because since she has no face or hair, you can decide which side to display - the mended side or the other. Her little flannel dress has a frayed bottom edge. Cute as a button and ready for travel. I am kindly asking $35 which includes her travel fee. She was handmade by me using my own design in my pet-free and smoke-free home. The wall pocket she is sitting in is not for sale. I use it to hold my rug hooks :)

Miss Eliza stands 9 1/2 inches tall. Her face is stitched by hand as well as her hair. She wears a plain dress, a little bit tattered in all the right places, and all visible stitiching is done by hand. Her body is made from cotton and stuffed with local wool and shows signs of aging around the edges. Her fabrics have been aged with black coffee dye. Her sweet face is stitched with cotton thread and her hair is made from a strip of wool. Her dress is made from a cotton ***fabric*** with brown flowers and stems on a cream background. The fabric has been dyed for a vintage look as well as the doll itself. She is stuffed with wool. She stands at 10" tall and at her elbows she measures 3" wide. She has rusty jingle bells stitched to her head. Her dress is a pretty cotton print in Christmas colors. Her wings and bloomers are stitched from green linen. Her shoes are painted on. Elsie

*SOLD* I am offering one of my handmade folk dolls. Elsie reaches about 10 inches tall and is stuffed with wool grown in Pennsylvania. She's wearing a simple cotton frock with the added frill of hand stitching around the neckline, sleeve edges, and the hem. When I came to work on her face, it just seemed right to leave it plain. I always like to create the effects that time and loving play have on a favorite doll so you will notice scuffs on the fabric from head to toe, including her frock. Please note that one of her hands has been mended by hand and the wool stuffing is visible. I love adding those sort of details to the dolls that I make. My folky and sweet little bee dolls have been stitched from muslin and stuffed very firmly with fiberfil. They has been aged, painted, and finished for a perfect old time appearance. Their ruffled skirts are sewn from primitive ticking homespun. The wings are aged and wired cheescloth. They each hold a wee painted prim basket and wool daffodil. They have a perky little twig nose, beady eyes, and stitched mouth. The antenae are rusty curled wire. They stand on a chunky wooden base. Perfect to display year round. All the visible stitching is by hand. Her dress has tiny stitches holding it together and in place. The dress does not come off.
