Button String Doll

I love finding old button strings when I'm sifting through button collections, so I thought I'd create a doll treasuring one between her hands. The cotton string is displaying 6 precious vintage buttons for safe keeping. The doll is made from old cotton fabric from my stash and is stuffed with scraps of cotton so feels just right. Her face is stitched on complete with rosy cheeks. Her hair is a piece of wool roving stitched onto her head. Her dress is made from a civil war repro cotton. If you look close you will see that "when she was new" she had two buttons on her dress but one has since fallen off. Maybe that's why she's holding so tightly to her button string. Her body and dress have been aged and so you will see little worn spots adding character to her little primitive spirit. She is signed by me, the maker. Measures 9.5" long. Lost Sock Doll

This special rag doll is a keeper. She's stuffed with cotton scraps so she just feels ever so prim and snuggly. And then, oh my, she's lost one of her socks! Her face is hand drawn. Her dress is a combination of hand and machine stitching. All visible stitching is done by hand: her skirt gatherings, sleeves, and hem. Her fashionable dress is made of a repro blue stripe. All the fabrics have been aged and in places there are worn spots purposefully placed to add a sense of age and charm. Her one sock is made from old cotton sock fabric. Her body is made from old feed sack fabric. The doll measures 10" long and is signed by me, the maker.

Christmas Angel

Tonight I am offering this sweet little angel to help make your Christmas merry and bright! She's just a little thing at 6" tall, wearing her best striped Christmas dress with vintage button and hand-stitched wings. Her cheeks are rosy and her hair is made from aged cotton twill tape. She has a loop at the back of her head in case you'd like to hang from your tree or peg. She is made completely from cotton and stuffed with wool. If you appreciate the worn look of time, you will be happy with her little pin pricks and frays, tastefully done for that extra vintage look. Working on such tiny features is quite a task so kindly asking $65 which includes shipping.

Miss Jane. A rag doll stuffed with wool and cotton.

I love Miss Jane! Her facial features are stitched by hand with a raised nose. She has a sweet smile, delightful eyebrows, and wonderful embroidered hair. Her body is made from old cotton and aged perfectly with charming signs of wear as if she was from years gone by. Her dress is made from an awesome reproduction print. All the visible stitching is by hand. Her dress has tiny stitches holding it together and in place. The dress does not come off. She's floppy and soft, stuffed just right, and ready to sit in a basket or lay down in a vintage cradle or wooden box. Approx. 10" long. I'm kindly asking $60 which includes shipping.

SOLD! Strawberry Girl Pin Cushion doll

Item is SOLD! Thanks so much. Strawberry season will soon be here and I have something very sweet to offer you as you wait for all those berries! I made a sweet little doll holding a strawberry pin cushion. The strawberry is made from aged cotton prints and is filled with crushed walnut shells. The doll is only 6" high. The strawberry is under 2" high. She is stuffed with wool. Her clothing is made from 1800's reproduction fabric. Her hair is a piece of twill tape and her face is drawn on with a pencil. She's been appropriately aged with little pricks and frays to add more charm. The strawberry is held tightly between her hands. She can either sit or be hung from the little loop on her back. Snow Girls

I really wanted to “think spring” but Mother Nature had other plans and gifted us with 8” of snow! This month I decided to make these sweet Snow Girls to go along with our crazy weather we’ve been having. They were made using a pattern by Woodland Primitives called Tilley & Lucy Simplewitch that I changed a little and made into snowgirls instead of witches. They are 18” long and can sit propped up or in a chair. I used vintage shoe buttons for their eyes. Their scarves and hats are made from wool and are not removable. They are both sporting pretty light green cotton dresses and muslin pantaloons. Kindly asking $45.00. Shipping is $8.50. Primitive Doll Quilt SOLD Thank you!

Primitive doll quilt in shades of reds and browns. Just like a young girl learning her sewing skills, the seams don’t match and the corners aren’t square but that’s just part of the charm of this aged and primly done piece. All visible stitching is done by hand. The fabric has been aged with pin pricks, worn out seams, and over dying for some appropriate age. The fabrics are a mix of old feedsack solid, repro homespun, and civil war era repro printed cottons. The center diamond patch features an appliqué stitched heart. In keeping with 1800’s quilting traditions, the backing fabric is folded to the front and stitched down to form the binding. The backing on this sweet quilt is an old printed feedsack with a design in red and blue slightly visible. 10x15”. Shipping is included in price. Please contact me with any questions.

Fall is in the air! Since it’s pumpkin season I created two sets of pumpkin dolls. They measure approximately 7” tall. They are sporting a wool dress and they are each holding a sprig of Sweet Annie. Each has stick arms and hand stitched faces. In the set you will receive one burnt orange doll and one heavily walnut stained doll. Kindly asking $38.00 for one set of two dolls. Shipping is $7.50. This chilly guy stands 15" tall and is made of very grungy warm and natural fabric. He is sporting striped overalls, a red scarf and a floppy black hat. His wool tree is removable. He does not stand on his own but he looks great propped up or tucked in a basket. As with all of my creations, these are not toys and should not be handled by anyone under the age of 12.
