BBD Pins and Tulips DrumSOLD

This drum, which I adapted from a Blackbird Designs Pinkeep, is cross stitched on linen using overdyed threads. The top and bottom, which are 2 coordinating reproduction fabrics, are edged with a herringbone stitch. It is firmly stuffed with a mix of sawdust, crushed walnut shells and lavender, giving it a nice soft scent. I’ve added a few black head pins, and pearl buttons, plus I’ve also attached a hook on the side, which holds a tiny pair of embroidery scissors. The drum measures 3 1/2” high, and 2 3/4” in diameter. “Rabbit Stew” PillowSOLD

A design by Notforgotten Farm, that I’ve always loved, Rabbit Stew is stitched on linen using overdyed threads. The pillow is edged with pom pom trim from Dames of The Needle, has a Moda fabric backing, and it is stuffed with a mixture of fibrefill and crushed walnut shells. It measures 7” wide, and 6” high. I am having so much fun creating things that are new to me this month! This wonderful coin purse was stitched using a pattern by Threadwork Primitives. It is fully lined and backed with beautiful fabrics I’ve had in my stash. It has a vintage looking frame for its closure and I’ve added an old mother of pearl button and a sweet little heart. Bee Measuring Tape SOLD

This month for my Honeybee theme, I’ve created these Bee measuring tapes using my own design. They’re stitched on 36 count linen with overdyed threads, and each one is different and unique with a combination of 2 different Moda fabrics. The tops and bottoms are lightly padded with batting, and they measure 2 1/4” high, 2 1/2” wide, and about 5/8” deep. Price is for each tape, and travel fare is $7.00. Honeybee PinwheelSOLD

The Bee design on this Pinwheel is stitched on 36 count linen, and is a Prairie Schooler design. The back is a black and gold coloured bee themed Moda fabric, and both front and back are padded with cotton batting. I’ve sandwiched a thick layer of pure wool felt in between, and the edges are covered with dyed twill tape, holding the black head pins. Travel fare is $7.00. Love Bird Pincushion On Oil CanSOLD

This sweet pincushion, a Brenda Gervais Design, is stitched on 32 count linen with overdyed threads. The backing is a rich, dark red wool, and I’ve used a feather stitch with Valdani threads around the seam. I mounted it onto an old oil can and added some stained vintage style lace. Overall height is 5 1/2”, and it measures 5” across. I’ve also added some glass head pins, a few vintage buttons, and it comes signed and dated. Travel fare is $8.00. BBD "Deck The Halls" Strawberries SOLD

These strawberries are from the BBD book Deck The Halls. They’re stitched on 35 count linen with overdyed threads, and are firmly stuffed with ground walnut shells. Each one is topped with vintage rayon ribbon which I dyed to match the design, and I’ve added a stained bone ring to the tops so that they can be hung if desired. They also would look beautiful in a bowl. They each measure just over 4 1/4” from the bottom to the top of the bone ring. The price is for each one. Travel fare is $8.00.
