Cloth Seed Drawstring Bag

Have you been gathering your seeds getting ready for early spring planting? This is the inspiration for tonight's offering. 4 inches wide by 6 inches long. A sweet indigo repro cotton print adds a prim flair to this ditty bag. "Seeds" is written out on a cloth tag and the bag is closed with a vintage cotton twill tape. Use it for seeds, an aromatic sachet, or to hold just about any little group of things. It would look really cute hanging from a peg or featured on a spring wreath. $16 covers the seed bag and shipping.

Patch On Point Doll Quilt

For an extra bit of charm, I set this patchwork quilt on point which creates a diamond effect. The technique is a bit more labor intensive than other methods but quite worth it. This sweet little quilt came out looking like its been folded in an attic for the last 200 years as it is a bit wrinkly around the lines of quilting stitches and in the corners. A collection of reproduction prints from the civil war era have been used to create this doll quilt. The fabrics have been dyed to add a bit of age. Cotton batting is sandwiched between two layers of cotton fabric. All visible stitching is done by hand. Kindly asking $85 which includes shipping.

Ohio Star Quilt Block Doll Quilt

The Ohio Star block is the central medallion of this doll quilt with an hourglass block in each corner. 10 x 13 inches. The quilt is sewn together by machine but all the visible stitching which is the quilting and binding is done by hand with cotton thread. The fabrics sat in a coffee dye bath awhile so variation of shade shows across the quilt. Kindly asking $85.00 which includes shipping.

*SOLD* Hourglass Quilt Block Doll Quilt

Made from 2 inch hourglass pattern blocks this little doll quilt measures 8 x 10 inches. Any fan of Jane Austen might take a kindred liking to this quilt because almost all of the fabrics used are reproductions of the fabrics found in Jane Austen’s original home. The historical originals are owned by Jane Austen’s House which is an independent museum and charity in the UK and a fabric company was given access to reproduce the originals. This is a very labor intensive design working with small pieces to make up each 2 inch block. Even though the blocks are sewn by machine all other visible stitching as in the quilting and sewing down the binding is done by hand with cotton thread. The fabrics did sit in a dye bath of coffee so variations of shade cane be seen.

The Flower Maiden Prim Pillow

This dainty little prim pillow is welcoming in all the flowers Spring has yet to offer! Flowers cut out from cotton fabric are the garden that this little maiden is walking through, picking blooms as she goes. The outline of her body is hand stitched with a series of cross stitches for her hair and french knots indicating the buckles on her shoes. The background fabric has been aged. The back of the pillow is a mini check in dusty blue. Filled with wool batting from Pennsylvania sheep. Measures approx. 8 x 5 inches. Kindly asking $40 which includes shipping.

*Sold* Crow Prim Bowl Filler

As soon as the veggies and berries start coming on, the crows descend. Here's my nod to the impending doom hehehe. This little bowl filler measures approx. 6 x 4 inches. Stitched by hand, aged fabrics, and stuffed with rags for a prim lumpiness. Kindly asking $28 which includes shipping.

*SOLD* School Girl Nine Patch Quilt

I love how this little quilt turned out. The fabrics are spring fresh. The sewing is intended to reflect the skills of a little girl learning to sew at her mother’s knee; not quite perfect and yet perfectly prim. All visible stitching is done by hand. The solid squares have been hand quilted in a “X” pattern. The backing has been turned to the front to form the quilt binding as is typical for quilts from the 1800s. Kindly asking $75 which includes shipping. The quilt measures about 9 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches.

Brown Patchwork with Heart Doll Quilt

A variety of brown reproduction fabric squares make up this little doll quilt. One of the squares has a hand stitched heart. The backing of this piece is an old feed sack with some of the inked words still slightly visible. I made this to look as if repairs had been done over the years in brown thread. Please take a look at the photos so you can see what I mean and if the technique is to your liking. Kindly asking $63 which includes shipping. Happy ***Winter***!

Peace On Earth Prim Pillow

“Peace On Earth” is letter stamped on a field of aged striped fabric with a folk art style angel hand stitched as guardian over the holiday sentiment. The pillow is stuffed with wool batting. The backing is a very small brown check. It measures about 8 inches by 7 inches. Unfortunately I cannot take orders for this item. Kindly asking $40 which includes shipping.

Acorn Primitive Bowl Filler *SOLD* thank you!

*SOLD* Thank you! Acorn pincushion or bowl filler. Civil War era reproduction cottons are appliqued onto a piece of old linen. The entire piece has been aged with a dye bath but the photos come across a bit lighter than the piece actually is. The piece is stuffed with scraps of wool fabric so it has a nice weight and a little bit lumpy which gives the perfect primitive look. The backing is a piece of civil war era reproduction fabric and is signed by me. Measures 7 inches by 5 inches. Kindly asking $43 which includes shipping.
