My primitive belsnickles are one of my beloved offerings I create each year. The face is paperclay molded from a vintage mold. It’s attached to a stump muslin body, and painted. I’ve used hand dyed vintage mohair in autumn hues for the coat and hat. He carries a rusty jackolantern bell and little bleached and dyed tree. His waist is tied with a jute cord and a woolen scarf is wrapped at the neck. A rusty jingle bell is stitched to the tip of the hat and two bells on his coat front. He stands on a chunky stained wooden base. He is just under 9 inches tall. He will come signed and dated. PRICED INDIVIDUALLY... Choose your number from the dropdown menu. Created with many loving stitches in my smoke free home, a Sassafras Hill original. *tis spoken for, thank you*
I've stitched these prim olde time pumpkins from a heavy cotton dropcloth, stuffed them firmly, aged them, stenciled them as pictured, painted them with an aging coat of drab orange, and sanded them heavily for a worn and weathered olde finish. They have a real dried pumpkin stem and corded segments. Each has a wooden tag with old seed packet print., pinned in place so you can remove it. About 9 inches diameter *spoken for, thank you*
I've created this cute little wooly pine and lavender wreath from a hand dyed cutter wool blanket. I've added a hand painted and glazed paper mache jackolantern and an aged wooden tag with the cutest little pumpkin man postcard print. Just under eight inches across. not including the hanger. Three available, please choose from the paypal dropdown menu. They have been been created by me, Denise Davis, in my smoke free, kittycat friendly home, a Sassafras Hill original. *spoken for, thank you*
Once again I've been working on quillies, It's a nice little pastime to pass the hours while caregiving my momma. They're created with strips of wool rolled together and they were perfect for this beautiful acorn makedo. There are countless hours of work rolling and assembling these pieces. The quillies were then applied to a stuffed wool acorn. I mounted it on a large wooden mill spool from my stash, and added a large antique key and buttons. The seams are X stitched. I've added a wooden tag with a vintage squirrel book cover print. A one of a kind treasure that should bring you joy for many years to come! Just over 12 inches tall. A very heavy and substantial piece, one of my favorites. Created with many loving stitches in my smoke free home, a Sassafras Hill original. *tis spoken for, thank you*
I’ve stitched these prim dolls from cotton osnaburg, with printed mercantile bodies. They're stuffed firmly and given a wash of paint, then sanded profusely for a weather beaten old time appearance. They each have a pumpkin stem atop their head and hand stitched facial features. Around their neck is a ruffled wool collar with wooden tag and pumpkinseed packet print. On their tummies I've stitched rusty jingle bells. Simple and so sweet. They will come signed and dated. About 13 inches tall including the stem. Created with many loving stitches in my smoke free home, a Sassafras Hill original. *'all are spoken for, thank you*
I've stitched these prim olde time pumpkins from a heavy cotton dropcloth, stuffed them firmly, aged them, stenciled them as pictured, painted them with an aging coat of drab dark green, and sanded them heavily for a worn and weathered olde finish. Depending on the lighting they sometimes show themselves as blue. They have a real dried pumpkin stem and corded segments. Each has a wooden tag with old seed packet print., * spoken for, thank you*
I’ve stitched this sweet squirrel from some beautiful honey colored mohair. He has beady lil eyes and stitched nose and mouth. His whiskers are heavy cord. He has a wool neck wrap and rusty bells stitched to his tummy. He’s perched atop a wool tuffet with vintage buttons and aged wooden tag with a needlebook print. Squirrel is holding a rusty acorn bell and has a squirrel tag dangling off his neck. The pin tuffet is attached securely and permanently into a vintage wooden tree segment nut holder, so neat! And so so heavy... This piece is just over 10 inches tall. Just about 6 inches diameter. It will come signed and dated. *tis spoken for, thank you*
These are two of my fun wool quillie Autumn trees, created with strips of autumn hued wool rolled together. They combined quite nicely for this beautiful folky tree. There many hours of work rolling and assembling this tree, and a ton of wool so it's quite heavy for its size. They are adhered to a wool wrapped heavy cardboard cone base I've mounted it on a painted makedo spindle base Matthew crafted for me. Each has a rusty acorn bell stitched atop, and a stained wooden tag with vintage pumpkin seedpack print. They stand about 16 inches including the base. A one of a kind treasure that should bring you joy for many years to come! There are two trees available. Pick your number from the dropdown menu on the paypal button... *both are spoken for, many thanks*
I've created these extra prim candy corn bell hangers from heavy natural linen. They're stuffed firmly with fiberfil. I've stenciled in olde time grainsack Salem Candy Shoppe design. I've painted them, patched them, aged them deeply and added rusty jingle bells and rusty wire hangers. Bells are just about twelve inches, including the hanging loop and bell. They have been been created by me, Denise Davis, in my smoke free, kittycat friendly home, a Sassafras Hill original. I've done four at this time... *spoken for, thank you*
This is one of my favorite fun wool quillie pumpkins, created by rolling multicolored strips of wool together. They have combined beautifully to create this one of a kind heirloom quality pumpkin. I’ve attached them to a heavy wool pumpkin stitched from vintage rug wool and stuffed firmly. The stem is a piece of thick bittersweet. A one of a kind treasure that should bring you joy for many years to come! About 7 inches diameter and 12 inches tall including the stem, and will come signed and dated. . *tis spoken for, thank you*
