Good evening all... Thank you for visiting my page! I'm so excited to begin another year of creating for Primitive Handmades Mercantile. This month I've enjoyed working on some whimsical Valentines offerings, most of which can be displayed throughout the year. I hope you will enjoy what I've created and also check out the other artist's pages.

I’ve created these prim lil raggedy dolls from osnaburg. They've been stuffed firmly, aged, painted and sanded for a prim worn appearance. Their facial features are hand stitched. I've stitched their dresses from reproduction cotton and their bloomers are osnaburg. Their hair is hand dyed sheep's locks, stitched in place. They're just about 12 inches tall and will come signed and dated. Each carries a wee heart garland. Created with many loving stitches in my smoke free home, a Sassafras Hill original. They're stuffed firmly, aged, painted and sanded for a prim worn appearance. I've stenciled linen grainsack stockings with love sentiments, and rag stuffed them. I've created these prim heart garlands with assorted fabrics as pictured and black walnuts, strung on heavy black industrial cord. I’ve stitched this sweet folky bird from reproduction cotton, He has beady lil eyes. His neck is wrapped with a velvet ribbon and he has a little brass key and heart lock. He’s perched atop a reproduction cotton fabric tuffet and fabric covered paper mache box to hold your sewing needfuls or what you wish. The box is painted black inside, and I've added a small stash of little trinkets inside. Box is 4 inches, bird is about 9 inches long. It will come signed and dated. *tis spoken for, many thanks*

I've created these extra prim hearts from heavy natural linen. They're stuffed firmly and I've stenciled it them with olde time conversation heart sentiments, grainsack style.. I’ve stitched these sweet mice from some beautiful Intercal mohair. They have beady lil eyes and stitched nose and mouth. Their whiskers are heavy cord. I've added them atop my sewing heart makedos. The hearts are stitched from vintage reproduction civil war cottons and mounted on a small rustic stained and painted candlestick. I've added fabric berries and hearts as pictured, as well as vintage red buttons and rusty lock tag. Mice each carry a vintage thread spool. Just about 13 inches tall. I’ve created this sweet and whimsical piece using one of my favorite hand done wool sock kitties. He’s stitched from black wool and has a braided wool tail. His eyes are vintage buttons and his facial features are hand stitched. He is stitched atop a large coverlet pin tuffet, stuffed with fiberfil and trimmed all around with rusty jingle bells. A rusty heart bell dangles from his wool collar. I've trimmed it with a vintage red button. The pin tuffet is adorned with a wee reproduction cotton print heart, vintage buttons, and a rusty lock tag. . Simple and sweet. Just about nine inches tall and seven inches across. I’ve stitched this prim elephant from a heavy vintage linen bag, aged it, painted it with an aging coat, and sanded well for a weathered old time finish. It has a stitched on heart and a small patch and I've stenciled it with No.14 and some olde time grainsack flourishes. It has a ragged fabric tail and black beady eyes. Very prim and simple.
