Welcome to Yankee Girl Dry Goods!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My name is Michelle Blanco.  I grew up in western Massachusetts where my grandmothers taught me how to crochet and sew, and to bake the best apple pies!  The name Yankee Girl came from my love of all things Massachusetts.  I love to use antiques and vintage items in everything I create whenever possible. Knowing that the things I create are comprised of objects with a history of their own makes it even more special.

Please feel free to reach out to me to purchase, with any questions you might have, or even just to say hello; I would love to hear from you!

Welcome to my April update!

I am in full patriotic mode right now and I am so excited to be able to celebrate the 250th birthday of our great country! I love creating little mohair critters and thought these little chicks would be perfect for a patriotic pinkeep. He is made from a creamy pale yellow mohair and sits on a 100% navy blue wool tuffet. He looks very dapper wearing his red ribbon bow and blue paper sailor hat! His hat is removable. I created a special patriotic pin with glass beads just for him. I added some glass head pins, a silver flag charm and a red button. Kindly asking $90.00 and $10.00 for travel faire.

Don’t you just love the spring season and everything new that grows around this time? I had to create these wonderful wool strawberries for this season and couldn’t resist the sweet melamine berry basket when I saw it. Of course it’s also fair time and what could be better than winning a blue ribbon at the County Fair?! The strawberry is made with beautiful hand-dyed wool from Blackberry Primitives and is firmly is stuffed with sawdust. I added some vintage buttons from my collection, a sweet hummingbird charm and an antique glass swirl pin. It is approximately 6” long x 4.5” wide. The blue ribbon is attached with a small magnet and can be removed. Please keep this away from children under the age of 12. Kindly asking $90.00 and $10 for travel fare.

I have always loved creating these mattress style pinkeeps. These are made with different fabrics from my collection and they are stuffed with crushed walnuts shells and polyfil. I created a special patriotic pin for each of these and also created a red linen strawberry for the top of each. A few glass-head pins, an American flag charm, and antique buttons complete the pinkeeps beautifully. They are approximately 3.5” square. Kindly asking $55.00 and $7.00 for shipping.

I loved stitching this sewing pouch for myself so much I just had to stitch another one for our update. This is a pattern by Stacy Nash Designs. It’s a beautiful bag, perfect for our Semiquincentennial! It is stitched in beautiful patriotic colors with added antique porcelain and Mother of Pearl buttons from my stash. The back of the bag is a pretty reproduction gold fabric and the lining is a gorgeous blue reproduction civil war fabric from my collection. It is approximately 9” long x 7” wide. The strap adds an additional 20” to hang the bag. It looks so pretty hanging from a peg, cabinet door, or even on the back of your favorite chair. Kindly asking $85.00 and $7.00 for shipping.

Can you tell I love creating these bags? This beautiful piece was created using a piece of brown coverlet that I had in my stash. It’s lined with a pretty summery cherry print fabric. I appliquéd a bright blue bird to the front and created a small bunch of cherries which I added to the top of the bag that matches the cherry lining fabric. It is approximately 9” long x 8” wide. Kindly asking $65.00 and $10.00 for travel fare.

This is my favorite Goode Huswife pattern I have ever stitched. The finished piece was perfect to finish into a pin disc and I couldn’t resist making one for myself also. It is approximately 6” long by 2.5” wide. Kindly asking $70.00 and $7.00 for travel fare.
