My first make do (or primitive pincushion) is made of overdyed and as is wool. The wools are beautiful rusty, reddish, orange brown colors and even though I took pictures outside the colors may vary in person. I have stuffed this tightly with premium fiber fill and hand stitched some embroidery stitches on the seams. On top is a piece of eco dyed lace and a vintage (what I believe is a Bakelite) button. The make do is mounted on a large hog scraper that has a wooden handle and metal base. I have attached 2 overdyed wool strawberries all beaded with vintage beads, small thread spool simply attached with a large rusty safety pin and a small string of vintage mother of pearl buttons. The bottom of the make do is trimmed with chenille ric rack. The base is 4” wide, the make do is 5 1/2” wide and total of 7” tall to the top of the make do itself. The strawberries are 2” and 2 1/4”.
