A huswife originated as a cloth sewing kit used by soldiers during the civil war. It usually held things like thread, needles, extra cloth, and thimbles. I’ve always loved the colors red and black together so of course when I saw this gorgeous red fabric I had to use it to create my huswife. In this huswife you’ll find a small pocket, bone rings to hold your floss, a wool snippet to hold your pins and needles, a few silver charms, and a reproduction post card.
