I've stitched these little stockings from beautiful red mohair, lined with matching homespun. To the front I've added a sweet little sculpted paperclay santa face, aged deeply with churro wool beard and woolen hat trimmed with a rusty jingle bell. It's just about 8 inches long, not including the vintage brass hanging ring. It will come signed and dated. There are six available. I’ve created this prim olde time Autumn Santa in keeping with my theme this month. He’s stitched from muslin, with hand stitched and painted facial features and felted hair and beard. He’s dressed in wool and flannel with rusty bells stitched down his coat. He has a wool belt and brass buckle. He’s carrying one of Matthew’s awesome log buckets, a prim walking stick, and an aged dried gourd. He has some preserved sweet annie and autumn candy cane tucked in his belt, and a wee painted batting pumpkin at his feet. He stands just under 15 inches tall, and is mounted on a heavy rustic pine base. Primitive Mohair Belsnickle My primitive belsnickle santas are one of my favorite things I create each year. The face is paperclay molded from a vintage mold. It’s attached to a stump muslin body, and painted. I’ve used hand dyed vintage mohair for the coat and hat. He carries a brass bell and other Christmas accents as pictured. His waist is tied with a jute cord and a woolen scarf is wrapped at the neck. A rusty jingle bell is stitched to the tip of the hat. He stands on a chunky stained wooden base.
