I’ve created this beautiful olde timey Santa with hand sculpted paperclay face. He has handpainted features and churro beard and hair. He’s dressed in a wool robe and hood. His scarf is wool and his tummy is wrapped with twine. He carries a bronze bell and a drab sisal tree. I've tucked an aged candy cane in at his waist. Primitive Mohair Belsnickle My primitive belsnickle santas are one of my favorite things I create each year. The face is paperclay molded from a vintage mold. It’s attached to a stump muslin body, and painted. I’ve used hand dyed vintage mohair for the coat and hat. He carries a brass bell and other Christmas accents as pictured. His waist is tied with a jute cord and a woolen scarf is wrapped at the neck. A rusty jingle bell is stitched to the tip of the hat. He stands on a chunky stained wooden base.
