Completely assembled and stitched by hand, this square wool penny mat makes a wonderful addition to an antique table or on the back of an upholstered piece of furniture. Completely comprised of 100% wool, this mat consists of 36 (triple) sets of wool pennies that have been buttonhole stitched together, then the penny stacks are buttonhole stitched to a black scalloped wool background, which is stitched to a mustard background and finally the mat is stitched to a black wool background. To complete this mat, the reverse side is finished off with a solid black backing. For added interest, each outer corner has been dog-eared/folded forward and attached with buttons.
