Flying Geese Doll Quilt (#1)

Flying Geese Doll Quilt (#1)

This doll quilt is made using a very old pattern named “Flying Geese”. The two “flocks of geese” are separated by separated by setting strips of a beautiful red floral. I love that fabric and it adds such a nice dimension and antique quality to the quilt. The setting strips are hand quilted with cotton thread. The quilt is entirely made from 100% cotton reproduction fabrics. The flying geese are constructed from a reproduction fabric named after the original genre called “shirtings”. The back fabric wraps around to the front to form the quilt binding. This is a common technique used during the 1800’s. The quilt has been aged and if you look closely you will see worn spots adding to its charm. Admittedly, the gray wintry days have made getting an accurate hue in my photos. The “white” fabric is more of a tea stained color than reflected in photos. Perfect to tuck inside a doll cradle, display on a wall, or use as a candle mat. Measures approx 11” x 12” There is a lot of hand stitching that goes into a doll quilt so kindly asking $110 which includes shipping.
