Hooked by hand using my own original pattern. A mix of primitive dyed wools from my own dye pot and local dyers are combined to create a whimsical Halloween rug. Hooked on premium linen with great care and a unique binding to finish off the rug, this truly is an heirloom piece to treasure.
Jack is of the blue pumpkin variety. The wools used for his head were blues over-dyed with walnuts collected right here on the homestead. His outfit consists of a primitive white shirt, black suspenders, and black pants, hooked in wools of primitive shades. His pet crow is wearing a rusty orange collar with dusty black wing tips. They are enjoying a midnight stroll under a quarter moon and starry sky of moody mixed primitive gray, green, and plum hand-dyed wools.
The binding is set off by a series of cross stitches hand sewn in cotton thread.
The rug measures 18.5 inches by 14 inches. A custom label signed by me, the maker, is attached to the back.
Price includes shipping.
The rug was made in a pet-free, smoke-free home in the hills of Berks County, Pennsylvania.
