This little pincushion is my first attempt at Boro/sashiko stitching. I actually purchased this as a kit from an eBay seller but the fabrics and all are actually imported Japanese fabrics with sashiko cotton threads. Some is indigo dyed as well. I decided to try a small version to start my new venture! So this started out at about 4”x4” and the final stitched and stuffed pincushion is actually 3”x3”. I stitched the top all by hand and did a variety of stitches to create the decking you see. The pincushion is studded tightly with crushed walnut shells and a bit of fiberfill as I sewed the seam shut. The pincushion has a nice tactile feel with the stitching and a nice weight at 3.3 ounces. Kindly asking $40 plus $5 for shipping. If you purchase both pincushions they will cost $85.
