Dulaney Woods Treasures

Stitchery, needle punch, dolls, and other primitives

Welcome to Dulaney Woods Treasures, where you'll find a little bit of everything that is primitive.   I have been a quilter for over 15 years and learned needlework at the young age of 13.  My mother always had us girls making something and I think that's were I get my love of creating things.   I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful group as this.  I hope that I will do them proud.   If you have any questions please feel free to contact me any time.

This sweet Hocus Pocus ditty bag is 7 " wide at the widest point and 8 1/4" tall. The strap is about 42" long and has been done out of three different coordinating cotton fabrics. Also you will notice that on each side there is an antique pearl bucket which attaches the strap to this sweet ditty bag. The front foundation fabric is a wonderful black linen. The sweet little pumpkins at the bottom are done out of orange, black, and cream wool which have been hand appliqued on to the foundation. Their sparkling eyes are black glass beads. At the top you'll find I used a vintage black/cream lace and added two wool medallions orange/black in the middle of it. On top of the medallions is a litle metal token that reads "Hocus Pocus" on it. The backing fabric and inside fabric is the wonderful orange/black moon fabric you see at the top of the piece. Asking $58- plus $8 for US shipping.
This stocking is about 7 1/2" wide at the foot and about 9 1/2" long (not counting the hanger). I have used hand-dyed threads for the cross-stitching and to applique the sweet wool pumpkin to the linen. The wool pumpkin has two glass bead eyes. The stocking it's self is made out of hand-dyed linens with a lovely matching cotton fabric for the back (black/grey floral print). Asking $48 plus $8 for US shipping. .
This sweet pincushion has a lot of work in it, but I'm so happy with the way it turned out. These two orange wool pumpinks are hand appliqued to a log cabin quilt square. You'll see there are 13 different cotton coordinating fabrics in this piece (well the pumpkins do cover a few of them up) all stitched on one by one. I have always loved the log cabin quilt design and save little 1 1/4" wide strips of fabric to use in them. The piece is about 5" wide x 5 1/4" tall. It's been stuffed with sawdust and walnut shells to keep your pins nice and sharp. This piece has been adorned with orange/black glass headed pins, a black spiral hat pin, some mother of pearl antique buttons, and a little metal token reading "Peculiar Things". Asking $59 plus $8 for US shipping.
