This drum, which I adapted from a Blackbird Designs Pinkeep, is cross stitched on linen using overdyed threads. The top and bottom, which are 2 coordinating reproduction fabrics, are edged with a herringbone stitch. It is firmly stuffed with a mix of sawdust, crushed walnut shells and lavender, giving it a nice soft scent. I’ve added a few black head pins, and pearl buttons, plus I’ve also attached a hook on the side, which holds a tiny pair of embroidery scissors. The drum measures 3 1/2” high, and 2 3/4” in diameter.
