All things primitive ...wool appliqué, punch needle, hooked rugs

My primitive offerings most often will include wool items that have been hand appliqued or sewn into a variety of goods. Much of the wool I use will be hand dyed by me. Linen is also a favorite fabric I use frequently. Punch needle and hooked rugs will be offered from time to time.

Offerings come from a smoke-free home.

This seasonal pillow is a combination of two art forms and talents between my friend Jo Scholl and myself. Jo creates the cross stitching and then turns it over to me to add wool applique and complete the item. The cross stitch pattern was a freebie from "Stitcherhood," and the wool applique was my design using my hand dyed wool. The pillow measures 6 1/2" x 13 1/2" L and is filled with recycled fabric. “Autumn” is stitched using variegated colored threads on sage green aida cloth. The cross stitching is mounted on marbled green wool from my stash, and the backing is dark charcoal wool. Jo and I love doing one-of-a-kind collaboration individually, and then surprising each other with the end project. You'll be seeing more from our partnership in future offerings! Shipping cost $5. Another collaboration with my friend Jo Scholl. The Miss Grimhild witch design is cross stitched using a pattern from Primitives by Jenny Hoffman. I then added the wool appliqued tree and pennies using muted fall colors to compliment Miss Grimhild's attire. The wool was hand-dyed by me. The lightly stained aida cloth is stitched to a piece of dark charcoal wool, and I have it pictured as a mat displayed on a high back chair in my home. It could be converted to a wall hanging for an additional cost of $10. Shipping cost $5. The piece measures 12" W x 16 1/2" H. Miss Grimhild has taken my heart ....maybe I should ask Jo to stitch a second piece just for me! Email me to purchase
**SOLD** This design by Lori Brechlin of Not Forgotten Farm is so perfect for fall and Halloween decorating. I used random colors of DMC threads with no particular placement in mind to give a more primitive look. The dimensions are 6 1/2" W x 5 1/2" H and is attached to charcoal woolen backing. It is hanging on a distressed wooden arbor piece of wood that I had in my garden but recently had to take down. The ribbon tie is a perfect match. Shipping cost $5. Email me to purchase
A fall harvest includes Pumpkins, Pears and Acorns ...thus the inspiration for bowl fillers using my hand-dyed wools. The designs come from me, and each is filled using polyester stuffing. Dimensions are: large pumpkin 6" x 6", trio of small pumpkins 3" x 7", trio of acorns 3" x 7", and the two grungy pears are 4 1/2" tall including stem. I'm selling all five pieces as a group, and I have two groupings to sell (both identical). I've used similar mini fillers for years in my home, they are a staple for fall decorating! **SOLD**Quilting was my first love before experiencing other needle arts. So I go back to quilting from time to time to keep my skills polished. The design is my interpretation of a cockscomb flower using a combination of quilting methods: hand applique for the flower/center piece, machine stitching the flying geese border, and finishing with hand-stitched binding and meander machine quilting. Random all-cotton fabrics in shades of orange and black were incorporated to create the charming primitive look. Cotton batting was used with a print backing. The size is 21-1/2" W x 38-1/2" L.
